School is kicking my butt!!

Wow!! How long will it be before I get used to this schedule? I have never been a morning person and luckily my kids aren't early risers either. Well, you know that all changes when they start going to school!! My alarm has been going off at 6:45 and I've been dragging myself out at around 7:05. It is killer!! I've been walking around in a daze all day, not able to get any motivation to do my daily household duties! I laid on the couch a bit today while Jack played Thomas trains. I think I've decided to try to catch up on the Young and the Restless! It's been years since I've watched and there are some pretty odd marriages on there now!

Macy is also feeling the tiredness today. The meltdown that I feared would occur sometime this week, occurred today! She got some dirt on her dress after we got home and it just set her off. I had to send her to her room and just let her scream it off for about 15 minutes! I'm sure the neighbors loved that! LOL

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day and we can all get adjusted soon!

How are those of you with new Kindergartners doing?

I haven't posted any new layouts in a few days, so here ya go!

This one I did for a challenge at ScrapGal. This month's theme is connect so I challenged everyone to connect with yourself, since most of the time we scrap about others and not ourselves. This is me probably at 5 or 6 at a petting zoo. I let the llama loose! I bought this Karen Foster animal paper several months ago and found it perfect for this layout. Hey, it even has a llama on it!

This one I just did tonight for the Bring It On challenge at ScrapGal. It was to do a layout with lots of white space, using at least 2 pictures and a black pen! The top pic is of me and my brother and the bottom is a recent one of Macy and Jack. Jack and Tommy are probably about the same age in the pics. Can you tell we are related? Many times I think Jack looks more like my brother than my husband!

Have a great Wednesday!! I'll post some of the September ILove2Create kit sneak peeks tomorrow!

When school starts it is usually difficult to adjust the first week or two. I am normally a morning person, but lately, I think something is wrong with me because I wake up at like 4am and then finally fall back to sleep at like 6:30. Then I can't get up by 9. I really stinks! I've got to get it together by the end of this week to prep myself for when Joseph goes back to school next Wednesday. He has to be out the door by 6:55am!
Love the wonderful lo's. Very cute animal paper. Love the texture you have on that on. And I think your son looks a lot like your brother in those photos.

That is AMAZING how much you and your bro look like your two kids! I would have guessed that both pictures were of your kids! Love the layout too - my new favorite thing is using white cardstock as the background paper! Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful layouts, Rachael! :)

As our son gets up very early every morning since he was born, I am not able to give you a tip. But I suppose when you get used to it, then it will be easier. :)

OMG! That is an uncanny resemblance! Great LO's! Not to be the bearer of bad tidings but
when my son went to school the first month was full of melt downs despite the fact that we were already very early risers. After a couple of weeks they get used to the schedule. Hope Mommy adjusts OK too!!

Your layouts are beautiful! Just love your style, Rachael! I can totally relate to the early morning woes...our high schooler now leaves the house at 6:15, so she has to get up at 5:30! Let me tell you, it's awful! :-) Janet

Gorgeous layouts!

I'm also a mom of a new kindergartner - and he is not at all a morning person. It sounds strange, but I've found it easier to get him up a little earlier than I have to so that he can have plenty of time to just hang out and then we're not so rushed. My dd is in 5th grade and every year we've found the first couple of weeks hard, so hang in there :)

I too have my first child in Kindergarten this year. He has always been an early riser- 6am for at least 3 years now. I can now finally see the benefits of that! Good luck and it can only get easier- right??

LOL, we are in the same boat!!! I like to sleep in, Cole started 4th grade today, I rolled out of bed at 7 and was ready for a nap around 4 pm, didn't take one though. I also used to love Y&R, I have no clue what is going on it now, I am sure there are some weird love connections!=)

Great layouts.

Hope Macy is doing better . . . it totally stinks to get your dress dirty. LOL!

I am not a morning person either. When I was teaching I didn't have to be there until 9am. Now that I'm staying home with my son he wakes up between 6:30 and 7, which is NOT when I prefer to get up! Somedays I listen to him play while I lay on the couch!
